Xenias are one of those corals that like dirtier nitrate-laden (to a point :)) water. Some people have major problems with them though. It wouldn't hurt trying some Xenia.

It may work, but it isn't suggested. It can reduce the lifetime of the T5s to run on ordinary ballasts or rapid/instant start ballasts. But T5s to light and run fine (minus possible longevity issues)...

Odds are it will light. I wouldn't suggest using it though - real T5 ballasts are much smarter than straight electronic ballasts.

But seriously, it helps a ton vs unplugging and plugging stuff back in constantly. Easier to switch a switch.
