Cc
Happy new year. I want to buy some more sand for my 75 gallon tank. I am wondering if I am going to hurt anything by burying the cc/, and sand that I have in the tank now. I have less than one inch. The cc/sand that is in there now was used, and the bacteria was completely dead (judging by the awful smell). I rinsed it thouruoghly in a bucket before putting it in the tank. I mention this because it is what would be getting buried.

IMO - I don't see a problem with it. However, I think the CC will rise back to the top of the sand after a while.

I'd remove it before putting the aragonite over it.

Thanks globalpimp...drummereef.....u say you'd remove it.....what about pushing all the old to one side, putting all the new in the other....not burying it at all.....letting the mix happen naturally?
