I acquired this anemone yesterday for my GSM. She took to it right away. It was sold as a BTA, is it? How bleached is it? BTW the foot is the almost the same color a little lighter and slightly translucent. Definitely not red.
This picture was taken after it was in my tank for less than an hour. ![]() sorry for the poor photography. |

It does look like a BTA (Entacmea quadricolor) and it looks healthy and not especially bleached. It may or may not get a little darker colored. What kind of lights do you have it under? Water parameters? Do cover up pump intakes for now in case it decides to wander. Nice GSM, the anemone is a natural host for this species of clown.

It is in a 20L tank with 65W of PC lighting, using a 50/50 bulb. I can easily add another 65W of PC that I have. I don't run them because the tank got hot in the summer, and the softies do fine with just the 65W.
Temp 79 - 82 SG 1.025 PH 8.3 NO3 < 1 NO2 0 NH3 0 Seio is screened. I think overflow is safe, just skims top of water. I am aware 20 is small (about 27 with sump), and I will have to keep a keen eye on parameters. |

Adding another 65 watt will be enough.
