5 days of no halides...will sps be o.k.?

Due to some unfortunate circumstances my sps frags and maxima clam in my 58g will be without halides at all for 5 days(actinic lights only)

Will they be o.k.?

Should be fine. May lose some color but as long as the rest of the perams are stable then they should be fine.

I hope so, I had no lights for 6 days a few years ago and lost a few pieces. I would try and put some kind of supplemental lighting. Do you have any daylight bulbs you can switch in the place of the actinics?

i went 4 days without any lighting, a slight bit of natural sunlight but thats it. on the 4th day i noticed that the corals didnt look well and another day would have meant death to a few of them. then the shock from intense lighting again shocked them nicely

Go to Lowes or Home Depot and get you a couple of DayLight Bulbs or there also called Full Spectrum (They are 5500k and are those coiled lights) and that should get you buy..

I went without light for 4 days when i swap over from 150g to 240g and all my SPS turned brown. But they will recover very fast as long as you keep my Pam stable here is pic of my corals after 4 days without light.

I don't want to sound too negative but likely I'll have some problems a few days after your MH turn on. try to acclimated them to the light again by shortening the PP, and raising the hight of the lights if possible.

I too would be careful re-acclimating to the MH.

Can you pop in some daylights instead of actinics? I would.
