Sloooooow site

I have found this site invaluable with the wealth of knowledge and willingness to of its members to help.

But......... I get so frustrated with the slowness of it. I frequent a couple photography sites with just as much activity but the interaction is seamless.

Why ?

We hit almost 2800 users on at the same time this evening. There aren't too many boards, on the planet, that get that level of activity on a regular basis.

Sorry but that's not really a fair comparison. They have less than 30 forums we have several hundred. They have 243,354 threads, we have 967,610. They have 2,348,439 posts, we have 8,594,494.

I agree. You are talking cumulative totals which have no relevance to my original comment.

I was only mentioning that this site is slow compared to others that have the same amount of "visitors" at any given time.

But since I am new here and would rather make friends then enemys since my presence will be known around here I will leave this alone.

Hope to share my knowledge of photography here and to help those with any questions relating to.

Actually they have a great deal of relevance. They've had a lot of users but the database doesn't have to work very hard. That was my only point.

Cheers

Got to wonder how much bandwidth a site that's so image intensive uses....
