Great Swap Guys!
Who needs an auction LOL, this was a great swap with some great demos and corals from our local reef keepers, about 25 showed up so a great day IMO. Thanks to Chris and Barry for the great prizes in case you were not there we gave out 2 TUNZE nanostream 6025s and they went to some new reefers who really needed them. Special thanks to my usual crew of misfits that make these things happen you all got your complimentary thank you prize, it wasnt much but it's really the thought that counts, I could not do it with out you guys. We saw newcomers and some of our original CVRC family returned, IMO it was a great meet. Sometimes I need to be reminded why I do this and today was a great reminder if not a blatant sign LOL. We have 12 names on the volunteers roster and a BIG thank you goes out to you who volunteered especially the first timers, I promise your rewards will come. Next swap will be an auction event, adverts will go up soon and we will post an official Thread dealing with it, we hope to see you all there. PS WHO MADE THE 7 layer DIP? You have to make that again ![]() Thanks again, Ron

Thanks for the "atta-boys" on the signs (and the dip - next time I'll make a larger one). It felt like a school project. Anyway, they are waterproof and reusable and I will make sure they get up for each meeting, and maybe made 1 or 2 ore. I need to include the mission statement on the inside sign. I always come away from the meetings "thrilled" with what I sold, or what I purchased, or what I won. That makes me want to help out.

Hi Everyone,
I just found this thread and I am glad to find out that there are some reefers in WV (that doesn't sound right does it?). I am a newbie and I am setting up a Bio Cube 14 g. I was in Pittsburgh today at MACNA and ordered my Marco Rocks from Marc, great guy. I was wondering where is a good place to get some lr rubble to seed this dry rock? The rock that Marc had in Pittsburgh really looked great. They have a special right now of only $5.00 shipping on any size order! I don't think we can beat that. I would also like to know about the meets that you all hold. I would like to come if possible. Thanks Dave Harbert |

HI Dave welcome. We have our meets/swaps at Cooke Funeral home about every other month. The biggest and most fun swap is the October meet IMO. It looks like that swap will be on the 28th this year. We give away a few prizes, have good food and refreshments, and manage to part our collective knowledge out to the group with demos and lectures. If I see some credentials from the "auctioneer" this will be an auction event as I have a list of volunteers ready to go.

I thank you for the info. That is quite a distance from me. I am near Clarksburg. I wonder if there is any clubs in this part of the state? Again thanks for responding to me.

I think the CVRC is the only one filling the void in WV right now, we cover the entire tri-state region OH, KY,WV plus PA and get many faces from different places. Your more than welcome to drop by if you feel like it, if your looking for good varieties of coral it's well worth the drive IMO.

Thanks for the invite. I will try to get to the Oct. meeting. I don't think that I have ever been to Nitro.
