What type of trash can to store limewater?
Can I use a normal rubbermaid "Brute" trash can or does it have to be food grade? If it isn't food grade, will it leach chemicals into the water?
Thanks, Mike

I just used a regular 32 gal. garbage container from Home Depot. Clean and rinse it well b4 usage.

I've used the 32 and 44 gallon grey Brute cans for limewater for more than 10 years with no apparent problems.

I use a scoop.
![]() Seriously, i do not try to saturate the water because my tanks needs less than saturated limewater. Mine is usually about half saturated (as indicated by conductivity) and I adjust it through the seasons for evaporation changes. FWIW, 1 eight ounce cup is about 48 teaspoons.
