I bought an AC Jr. and also a first timer on this controller.

For a first timer with this controller, I have a difficult time to understand on how to program this controller.

Try posting here

I've also found that itís easier to find a sample program from someone else and modifying it to my needs.

I can help with most problems with them they reallly are pretty simple. Each device needs a name and an address. You should have the most comonly used items pre programed in your JR. You will find them in the "Setup" menu then "timer setup" and then under "timer names" and "modify name".
An example.
where "LT1^" is the timer name and "A01" is the location this device.
"A01" should be where your first light is pluged in. If your using a DC8 make sure all the little toggles are up and the top left recpetical will be "A01" with the bottom right being A08.

Then under the "timer setup" menu again find "timer program" and then "modify state" where your first lines should be something like
If Time > 09:30
Then LT1^ ON

If Time > 20:30
Then LT1^ OFF

The first two lines say if the time is after 9:30 am then turn on the light "LT1^" located at A01
The second two lines say if the time is after 8:30 pm then turn off the light "LT1^" located at "A01"
The order the statments are in is important as they are read in order.

Each item you want to controll should have a unique name("LT1^") and a location ("A01") as well as at least 2 commands, containing two lines each. Two items can not have the same name or location.

It is much easier to program if you use AquaNotes. You can download the light version free from Neptunes Web site.
Good luck!

If Timer LT2 = ON Then LT1 OFF
If Timer LT4 = ON Then LT3 OFF

If Temp < 79.8 Then COL OFF
If Temp > 79.6 Then FAN ON
If Temp < 79.5 Then FAN OFF
If Temp < 76.9 Then HET ON
If Temp > 77.0 Then HET OFF

A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them G.Washington
