I can see prices rising very quickly for red stuff if demand is out stripping supply at the rate I would imagine it would...... we could get clarion or pepermint angel syndrome.....

My LFS fish store just recently got a semi-small shipment of Red Sea fish.

BTW, does the Red Sea have any Powder Blue Tangs?
After reading this thread, I quickly made my way back to the LFS to pick up a second Golden Butterfly. I made this decision after I saw how eagerly my first purchase was at eating just flakes!

I hope the new addition will learn from the first.

Red Sea fish are still coming in but they are just coming out of other areas like Yemen. The quality of the fish are a little less than the norm due to different collection practices in these other areas but availability is still pretty much on par with the same time last year.

They also had Purple Tangs, Sohal Tangs, and Powder Blue Tangs (but Matt does not believe that the PBT are from the Red Sea).

Just about every fish was in very good condition.

Oh yeah, there were some Asfur Angels too. I think that's what they were (the ones with the yellow streak down the middle).

purple with yellow band and yellow tail = asfur
blue with yellow blob and whitish-yellowish-blue tail = maculosus

Thank you too Manta.

The PBT were sure nice though. That's why I thought that they might have come from the Red Sea along with the other fishes. I was very tempted to get one, but after having bad luck trying them twice before, I didn't want to risk the livelihood of my other fishes in the tank.

There isn't any PBT in the red sea
You might as well sea many kind of Wrasse ,tang (purple and Sohal are common), angels , triggers (assasi ,fuscus Undulatus ) and mant other endemic species.
