Nano Cube Reef?

HI all, I'm a complete newbie to reefs and/or saltwater setups but have been thinking for awhile about setting up a 24gal nano cube reef.

I just read the article for people considering reef tanks and noticed one of the equipment items NOT listed was a chiller, which would be good since they cost more than the tank.

Also didn't notice what water temp is good for a small reef like this?

I already have a good RO unit, heaters, pumps etc from my freshwater addiction, so I'm thinking the Nano cube and a skimmer (and refratometer) and I'd be set for equipment... does that sound about right?

Any input would be appreciated

Thanks,
Jim

I have a 14 gal oceanic biocube and I love it. Chillers cost a lot so I do not have one But I have heard that if you just get a window ac for the room your tank is in generally it isn't a problem. And it keeps you and the tank cool I know that there are do it yourself designs for chillers but other than that I have no clue on what those involve. As for tems I have heard from 76-83 is okay but generally I try to keep mine at 79-80 just as long as things are happy and it stays generally stable. I hope this helps!

you really don't need to drop a lot of money on a chiller...just put an clippable fan on the side of your tank a point. This should do the trick also it depends on what you average daily temp is at. On my 24nanocube i don't even need a heater or a chiller, because of where my cube is located in my apt. It all depends upon the person.
