Yes it will work that way. Make sure to keep the housings full of water when not in use so the membrane and DI resin do not dry out and go bad on you.

What is the best thing to keep the treated water in? Would a 5 gallon bucket work or a 1g water jug? Thanks

How to keep the housings full? I'm headed out of town for a couple weeks and plan on shutting my ro/di off. When I do shut it off, the housings drain partially (I believe, because it takes a few seconds for them to fill up when I restart).

Some units come with plugs in the outlets when you purchase them that can be reinstalled when not in use.

AZDesertRat - Saw your post in the Spectrapure forum as well. this thread here is the one that prompted that . So, I don't have those caps - any suggestions? I suppose I could try and find some.

I have the Typhoon III as well, it's freakin awesome, I set it up with the float switch for my holding container, it works like a charm.
