Mystery Fish
I recently purchased a beautiful fish but was too excited I forgot to get the name.
I know this will be hard through words and not picture (camera stolen was stolen last month ![]() Its about 8cm , its has yellow spotsl over an aqua-blue body , has a long yellow nose , tiny mouth , has a body shape of a moon wrasse. His tail has a black spot also has a black spot on his bottom front fin. I know its hard to identify a fish without pictures , if u have any idea it would help. P.S. I would go back to the LFS but its a 1hour+ drive . Thanks James.

It sounds like a longnose filefish {Oxymonacanthus longirostris}. If this is your fish they are obligate coral feeders{ although they also feed on sponges and inverts}.

Matt you hit the nail on the head.
![]() He is eating brine, mysis and marine green at the moment looks healthy but still I probably be returning it back the LFS , even though they told me it would be ok on brine ( I always make the LFS feed the fish I'm going to buy ) Thanks mate ![]() James
