Metal Halides - yellow
I've just brought new lights,Aqua OneMg-1200.
(http://www.aquariumproducts.com.au/prod1082.htm) The corals love the light but my tank is giving off a yellowish light. How do cut out this yellow colour? Thanks ![]() James.

About your only option would be to add more actinics or replace the halides with a higher kelvin bulb.
Some burnin time might whiten them up as well.

I agree with thrlride... I agree with thrlride... ![]() Also you might try running a filter sock or canister filter to get the water crystal clear. That might help a little.

Definatley, I did both XM and Pheonix bulbs and the XM whiten up after about a month and the Pheonix lost some blue after about 3 weeks.

You could remove your 10,000s and go with 14,000s.

The haildes require a burn time of about 100 hours use before they break in. But I know certain bulb companys that sell the 10,000 K will burn more yellow than others. I am not familiar with that halide bulb.
