Is this a good book to get?

Well, I'm in the planning and research phase of setting up a larger FOWLR. I'd like to get some butterflies and angels. I thought about asking for this book for Christmas. I was just wondering if anybody has it and can recommend it or another one. Thanks.

Angelfishes & Butterflyfishes: Reef Fishes Series by Scott W. Michael

This is THE book to get if you are interested in angels and butterflys. All of Michael's books are excellent and a great source of information.

I like this book because it is pretty thourogh. What I like about it is that he goes into a lot of detail about how to distinguish different species of angels and butterflies and sex them when possible.

This book only goes into a little bit of detail about how to care for the fishes in captivity, but overall he hits the mark pretty well when it comes to telling you about their overall hardiness and suitabilaty for aquarium life.

Overall it is a very good book that is worth having on your shelf.

Many thanks! I guess I'll add it to the Christmas list. Are they're any other books, that you've read, that you would recommend in conjunction with this book for Angelfish and Butterflies?

Get the whole series of books. The first book is Reef Fishes Vol. 1. The second book is Basslets, Dottybacks and Hawkfishes. The the third is Angelfishes and Butterflyfishes. All are excellent. You can even take a look at Pocket Expert Marine Fishes.

I was diving with Scott in Indonesia and can heartily recommend his books; I use them all of the time.

Oops, I did not read Tremelles tanks. How do you like the Aquatronica?
