glued fish

I don't care how long you've read these here's a new one.

I used super glue gel to fasten a new coral (my very first one) to a piece of live rock. it stuck just fine but as I stepped away from the tank, I saw my Racoon somthingorother fish swim to the base of the newly attached coral and peck at the super glue, I think he glued his month shut...............Now what???

ROFLMA!!! You are kidding right? No your kidding right? Seriously your kidding right? Well I would think a trip to the Vet is required in this case. Or at least a phonecall. Although not many vets work on small fish or any size for that matter. Wow its really hard to come up with good advice for this one. LOL

I threw some mysis in the tank to see if he can feed, him mouth is glued shut.....really, The glue says if you get it on you skin to use baby oil to get it off, I may have to try it on the fish.

The baby oil worked!!!!! He's already eating! The whole house has tears from laughing (and relief). Thanks for the help..........

next time let the glue dry before putting it back into the tank. but dang that funy

I've heard it. I think they can work their mouth back open after awhile. How exactly did you apply baby oil to the fish? I'm curious

Wow, that baby oil trick is good to know. I thought my maroon clownish glued her mouth shut one day under pretty much the same circumstances. She mouths just about anything new that enters the tank, and I was supergluing a frag and she came up to it and chomped right down on the glue. Fortunately for her, she must not have bitten down hard enough, or I would have been in your shoes.
