150 Peninsula

Here are a few pics of my new SoCal Built 150.
I am running a 40 gal sump. 2 x 250 MH. and Dart CL
Tell me what you think. I just upgraded from a 40 so I still need to fill in some open area.

Very nice. Do you have any pics of your sump setup?
You just need about 100lbs more of LR and it will be a real beauty!
So far so good.
Merry Xmas.

Sorry this took so long DRC. Work has been keeping me occupied. But here is a under tank shot. I am hoping to have more rock in there soon. Thanks for the comments.

I like the tank, it looks saweet. I have always liked that spacious look, but only a few people ever try it.

I think you should have a giant tonga branch on the left side of the picture.

I think I saw the tank setup at SoCalCreations while it was being built, what a beauty.

I like the look of the tank, something I always try to do, but then I start piling up more rock. Very nice.

Thanks,

The stand and canopy is made with maple that I stained to come close to our floor and cabinets in the rest of the house. I was very happy with SoCal they did a great job.

The sump is my old 40 gal acrylic. With a rio 1700 for a return that I want to change for something a little bigger maybe a 2500.

The skimmer is just a G-1 right now, I would like to upgrade to a G-3 in the future.

A Dart runs the CL with 4 outlets (2 through the top and 2 through the bottom of the tank).

Lights are 2X250 SE MH run by an electronic ballast. I just replaced the old radium 20K bulbs with 20K Ushio bulbs. The new bulbs are a little bit more white and the wife and I like them alot more than the Radiums.

I may have to figure out how to put a chiller on the tank because the temp is about 85 right now with both lights on. And I have my lights on from 3pm to 10pm.

That should cover everything let me know if there are any more questions or comments or advise.

Casey

SoCal did my setup as well. I must say I was very happy with their work and craftmanship. They are always good about returning your call and always have an answer for you. I wouldn't add anymore live stock until the heat issues are worked out.. Good looking setup ! It looks like Christmas came early this year for you...

nice set up, I really like the look. Now if I may suggest something, I would take the MH ballast and place it out side the sump. That might be the reason your having such a high temp this time of the year. I had to put a heater in my tank since it would not go any higher then 76.

I think I am now done changing the rock work.

I also just picked up a G-3. So now I can slowly add more fish and coral.
