How do you expain this??

Back in July, I brought back from Los Angeles a little souvenier.......this little rock with 6 or so polyps on it; they looked like this when I first got them......



Over time, they started looking really good and multiplied quickly.......but over the past month they have looked like this.....



I havent been able to figure out why they are looking so bad, so I decided to take a look under/around the little rock and noticed that there are 3 little polyps of Neon Dragon Eye Zoas. I do have a small frag of NDEs, But This Little rock of polyps has never been anywhere near it? Any insight?
