Quarantine Tank Question
Do you want to use water from the established tank to make the quarantine tank?
Basically I was thinking when I need a quarantine tank setup I will do a water change in my main tank and use the water from for the quarantine tank. Last edited by The_Browns; 01/06/2008 at 07:55 PM. |

I think that is the best way. Water from your tank and some sort of filter media from your sump. If it is for disease control, the fish will not need to acclimate. If it is for a new fish it will acclimate to similiar params as your main tank. I always have filter floss in my sump to grab if I need to do this.

I also use water change water for my quarantine tank. It also contains live rock and a small clean up crew. However, I do not medicate this tank.

I have a 50 QT and change 3 gallons twice per week. I use water from my 390 to change my 50.
