Question What are some hardy red fish?

I am looking for some hardy red fish, I currently have a cb and 2 false percs so what are some hardy red fish for a 45g? I can not get a flame angel, nor maroon. I will pass on a hawks. I have also tried firefish, the clowns beat it up. So any hardy red fish? I think I will pass on the wrasses because of the werid disease.

This colorful enough for you?

Cirrhilabrus jordani

Hawaiian Flame Wrasse

Don't know how would thrive in 46 gal. 75 GAL recommended & allot would depend on tankmates. This is a VERY peaceful fish. (also quite hardy)

what happened to your coris wrasse and the long nose hawk you bought not so long ago? You are saying you will pass on hawks and wrasses - thought you only just got them last month? Or is this for a different tank?

What about a Fire Clownfish? Not sure if a 46g would be big enough to house any more clowns though without a major war breaking out.

Wrasses are among the most disease resistant fishes.
Red Flasher or Fairy Wrasses could possibly be the best choice for having red fishes in an aquarium the size of yours.

I'd ignore that and proceed to locate an inexpensive Fairy or Flasher Wrasse.

good news:
it's usually the inexpensive species that are the hardiest.
This makes it much simpler.
Try a "Yellowfin" or Lubbock's Flasher Wrasse.
If you get a plain red female it will often quickly turn into a more colorful male. If you get several females the dominent fish will turn into a male and spawn with the harem of females- very interesting stuff to observe.
Avoid the expensive species and make sure your aquarium is covered- Wrasses can jump.

prices fluctuate with each market.
I have no idea what you'd pay in San Fran for one of those Wrasses, but I'm guessing you can find one for a fraction of the price you posted.
