Food Question

Is flake or pellets better?

Is dried or frozen better?

Is it better to make your own fresh? If so, where should I start?

I'd suggest a mix of flakes, dried, and frozen (pellets if you need something to get to the bottom for scavengers like star fish, crabs, and lobsters). You will hear lots of opinions as to what is "the best." Who is to say for sure. Probably more important is to provide somewhat of a variety for your fish to eat.

Most of your "Flake foods" are vitamen enduced, making them your best choice as far as health is concerned. If you have a fish that is reluctant to eat the frozen can be very usefull. but with it you should thaw and rince with fresh water before you feed because the packing juice is "rocket fuel" for unwanted algae.

You it is good to feed a mixed variety of foods to your fish. Don't confuse this... It can be achieved with flake foods.
