Try a larger variety of foods. get a few of the frozen cube trays, mysis, krill, stuff like that. Also may try "Garlic Guard" or similar items to help induce finiky eaters to eat. Being a small goby, may be eating on pods in the tank, but this will run out quickly without a refugium. Call the place you got him from and ask what they had been feeding. This is good practice before you even purchase anything, ask the local store to feed the fish and watch them to make sure they are actively feeding and not running away and hiding in the corner ignoring all the food.

My Yellow Watchman goby never eats. Or at least not what I try to feed him. but he is alive and fat and has been in the tank 3 monthes now. At feeding time all my schrimp know I am going to try and feed him and they hover right in front of his hole.

my orange spotted goby will eat mysis, flake, just about anything that floats his way. You may try to drop a few pellets on the bottom and see if he goes for those. I had to start with pellets because of the feeding competition with the other fish when the goby was new and shy-now he eats anything and is a more aggressive feeder at feeding time. Just keep trying to feed because they can starve if not supplemented food.
Good Luck, Jolene
