Question Magnesium way too high!!!!!!!

Hi There...I dont know how I did it but somehow my MG level is at 1950 !!!!!!!
I did a whopping 60-70 gallon water change on 160 gallon tank and the level of MG did not drop!!!!!!!!!! WHen I measure the MG from the fresh mixed saltwater it measures 1620 (Fritz Blue Box)
Test kit is a brand new Salifert!
Salt is new also....Is 1620 not HIGH for freshly mixed saltwater??????

WHAT THE HELL????

Can you explain?
Thx
Tim

you betcha......first thing i would do is have someone else check your water with a different test kit, preferably not salifert......

if it is 1620, I'd complain and i'll bet they will ship you out a new container of salt....

It should have come down with the water change .....something doesn't seem right....

Ditto! Myself I'd be curious what reading I'd get with testing tap water of a small amount of water mixed to 1.010.
