I've kept peppermints and clams together for short periods of time for aptasia control and I've heard that they can bug clams but in my experiance peppermints hide all day while the clams are open and at night when the shrimp come out my clams are mostly closed up anyways. However not all peppermints will touch the aptasia as well so its hard to say what they will do.

I will have to side with whatcanyedo, there are 3 tanks in my house that have peppermint shrimp and clams together. The peppermint shrimp will most likely take care of the apatasia, but like whatcanyedo said, don't count on it. Just be sure you don't have any predators in your tank, such as predatory fish and more aggressive shrimp.

My Dad put about three peps. in his 210gal and they after a couple of months disappeared. And the only predator we had was a Coral Banded Shrimp that was "said" to be reef safe. That little devil also ate five out of seven of my Dad's Chromis.

Current Tank Info: Family 210gal reef, 30gal frag,

I appreciate the replies. I've been using kalk and Joes juice but they keep coming back. The only fish in the tank are 2 perk clowns.
