Copper pipes and RO/DI

I spend around $60.00 - $100.00 a month on distilled water and it a pain in the rear to say the least. I have decided to buy an RO/DI machine as it will pay for itself in just a few months. I should have done it a long time ago. I have a few questions.

1. All my tanks are in my classroom. I have three sinks in my room. I figured I can probably get the district plumbing department to splice the RO/DI machine into the pipes below the sinks. The pipes are all copper, will this pose a problem?

2. If the district plumbing department wont splice the machine into the feed lines below the sink, can you hook it up to the faucet?

3. Can someone recommend a good place to buy an RO/DI machine. The ones I have been pricing froms Drs. Foster and Smith are all $250.00 +. I know there are cheaper ones available.

1. No, that should be okay.

2. Yes, lots of places sell faucet hookups.

3. I haven't bought RO-DI units in a long time.

They are a RC sponsor and you will not be disappointed with their prices, products or service.

Most if not all of thier products come with everything that you need to hook it under a sink yourself in less than 5 minutes (no plumber required).

I can not recommend these guys enough.

got a typhoon III through airwaterice.com

if you pay that much in water a month, definitely need a RO/DI unit

they have an optional hose adapter which screws onto the end of my basement faucet(will have to look at your faucet first) or you can use the piercing valve that came with the unit to pierce the supply pipe between the stop valve and sink faucet
