Chemical warfare between soft corals?

Hi guys,

I got some mushrooms, some tree corals and some zoos with one brain and one magnificent anemone in my tank. Will there be any chemical warfare with the livestock I have?

My tank details are in my signature.

Its possible- I assume the 'tree corals' are some kind of sinularia/nephthea/klyxum type coral? If thats the case, then yes, they do produce noxious chemicals that can affect other inverts. Your mushrooms and zoas arent likely to show much of an effect- your brain may, and your anemone may (magnificent anemones are almost impossible to keep in captivity anyhow- exposure to high levels of allelotoxins arent going to help.)

Things that cant help
1) regular, decent sized water changes
2) add carbon to your system somewhere
3) never, ever frag your soft corals in the tank- they will dump a huge amount of toxins into the tank.

Reaching up and reaching out and reaching for the random, or whatever will bewilder me.

Have Some Personal Accountability

Current Tank Info: 240g LPS/Softie Reef

Wow, thanks a lot.

Actually, I'm trading all my corals for clams, and will keep my magnificent anemone. I got a 400w MH over it and some tunzes so I'm hoping it'll be ok. It hasn't moved since I got it 2 weeks ago and seems to be doing well.

I change carbon weekly and also do water changes weekly and I never frag in the tank.

Thanks again.
