What are the reef friendly angels?

I am looking to add an angel to my tank, what are some reef friendly angels out there?

i think the genus is genicanthus or something along those lines... someone will chime in and correct me..

mostly they are the swallowtail angel fish... beautiful in a simple sort of way... and they are the only 100% reef safe angels...

genicanthus species are the most reef friendly angels. Others are much more hit and miss with mostly the miss side. There are individual exceptions that can be relatively reef safe but if you keep angels, you should have a huge tank (so that a single coral does not get devastated) and not care about coral munching.

I have an Imperator Angel in my tank that hasn't touched any of my coral for about 3 months now. Though, it is still a juvenile.

What corals do you have in your reef? "Reef safe" angel depends on what you have in your reef. I have 3 angels in my reef. I keep mushrooms and leathers since they don't eat those corals.

I second the question about what corals do you have in your reef? I had a half black that was fine for 3 months with my leather, zoas and a hammer. But when I put an open brain in the tank the half black went crazy. I had to take him out to save the brain. I no longer have the half black angel nor will I ever get another angel with certain types of coral.

Here is another article on the genicantus angelfish.

http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/20...hcs3/index.php

The other angles are hit/miss depending on the coral and specimin.
