Sorry for the mis-post. I actually meant to include distilled water, such as from wal-mart.

However, looks like most people are using RO/DI.

Which RO/DI unit is everyone using? I'm a little hesitant about spending so much on a unit and want to minimize instillation. any recommendations?

Thanks!

You can use just DI water, but that would be a waste of money, essentially you would quickly burn you DI cartridge and have to replace it, the RO state takes out the majority of the impurities and the DI stage finishes it off, hope that helps.

I make my own RO/DI water

I use a Kent Maxxima 60gpd ro/di that i mix with SeaChem Reef Salt. But if i was to get another Ro/Di system i would get the OCEAN REEF + 1 FIVE STAGE 75 GPD RO/DI from Thefilterguys.biz

It is an awesome unit that kick my Kents rear end. Also it is cheaper! Not to mention they are a sponsor on RC.

There is nothing like having perfect water that you know is clean right at your house.

RO/DI water. The easier you can make your water the better chance you will stick to a regular water change schedule.

With 4 tanks I invested in a RO/DI filter. Being 1000 miles inland real salt water wasn't an option
