Which Hydor Koralia P/H for my setup?

I am setting up a new tank, and would like decent chaotic water movement to promote coralline algae growth, and inhibit undesireable algae.

The tank will be 48" long x 20" high x 13"deep with LR and a shallow sand bed (1 1/2 - 2 inches).

Which Hydor Koralia powerhead model would be best for my setup and how many - 2 or 3 or 4?

Depends on your aquascape and what kind of corals you are going to keep, but a couple of HK 2 or 3's pointed at each other in opposite corners would probably suffice. The 3's move a lot of water.

insert clever saying here.

Current Tank Info: 200 gallon custom Marineland DD peninsular tank. LPS dominated mixed reef. Previous 90 gallon mixed reef TOTM April 2009.

I am using 3 #2's in a 72bow. I've tried that setup with 2-#2's and 1-#3 but it was too much for my LPS. If you are going SPS only i would recommend using the #3's but if it's a mixed tank go with #2's but more than 2 to have flexibility in water movememnt around the tank

Thanks for the fast reply seapug and swisha!

Not planning on any LPS/SPS just lots of LR with the usual zoanthids, tubeworms, smaller anemones (Not carpet type).
