Post A letter to the Tampa Reefing Community

Tampa Bay Reef Club has come a long way in the last 18 months. In the last 18 months we have seen out meeting attendance climb from a low of 12 people to an average of over 35 people, with an outstanding 100 people at our April meeting. We have also seen out registered members climb to over 80 people this month. I want to take thank all of you for making this club such a great thing to be part of. I am proud to be a member, excited to be part of the team that is moving us forward and encouraged by the amazing potential we have.

This week I allowed my passion and emotions got the best of me and I did not exercise good judgment that allowed things to escalate unnecessarily. I would like to apologize too our members, our sponsors, our potential members and the Reef Central community. Tampa Bay Reef Club is better than the behavior we saw on the message boards this week; we can and will exercise better judgments in the future. TBRC does not have any control of the moderation of the RC website and I respectfully ask that we all conduct ourselves in a manner that is in accordance to their rules and regulations. Reef Central is an integral part of our community and having any of our community banned from the site does not help any of us.

I am very excited about the remainder of this year; we have 4 strong meetings lined up, and are working hard on planning our Spring Trim and Trade event for May ’09. We are working to get at least one respected professional speaker to present to us this year, and are going to end the year with a great holiday party, hopefully with another great raffle.

Watch the TBRC Website in ’09 as we work on some improvements that will bring some new and exciting features to the members, and some great enhancements to our own forums. TBRC is an incredible club that has amazing potential; I am excited to be part of this great group and can not wait to see you all at our next meeting. We will be having the September at my house.

Respectfully yours,
Bryan Gifford
President, Tampa Bay Reef Club

Thank you Bryan for taking the time to write this letter and demonstrate by example what the heart of this club is truly all about.

I respect and appreciate your leadership and I'm looking forward to what the club has to offer and how I can be a part of helping out with making it even better in the future!

Bryan, thank you for the gracious post. I would also like to extend my apologies to anyone who may have been upset by the events of the last few days. Suffice it to say that we value all our members, and a strong partnership with the Tampa Bay club can only benefit the Reef Central community.

Thank you BrianD and all of the moderators that were involved in the decision to allow our TBRC president back on RC.
I can assure you that the board of directors of the Tampa Bay Reef Cub will do everything possible to ensure that not only our website stays true to the beliefs of what a reef club should be about but that our club forum on RC also complies with what is supposed to be appropriate discussion, which is about reefkeeping! RC has been a very important part of my life for many years now and hopefully for many more years to come.
Welcome back Wardaddy.

Sue

briand, i have a kegerator=free beer . you and i have some good and bad history. thank you,dc, and all the mods for letting wardaddy back. he represents most of the tampa forum, and as i said we have a lot to offer. this was a class act to let bryan(wardaddy) and myself back in. this really sucks, now i have to behave. i was ready to rebel and turn to the darkside .
