whatever happened to the regal angel and copperband butterfly that you previously had in your old pics?

The regal was removed from the tank due to being not a aggressive eater with all the other large Angels. The butterfly died from not eating to much competition for food from the big guys.

Well i broke down and re auqascaped my tank. I have many big fish in the tank.I found that the way I had my rock stacked in the center of the tank was taking up to much room. Have lots of swimming room now! Very pleased with the outcome. I added 3 new fish to the tank. A unicorn tang, M Angel, and another perc. I was very lucky in adding the other perc to the tank. He took to the other right away. Both are happy in the Anemone.

Probably nothing, but can't get that link to download the file. I wait the 15 seconds, but when it's available to download, it says the file isn't there (or something similar).

HDTV GUY,

I am currently working on my 300 gal Here is the link.
http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh...5&pagenumber=2

I am wondering about a couple of things. I am thinking about going with the starboard bottom since my 75 gal refug has a sand bed. That way I can increase flow in the tank.

Where do you get that starboard stuff? is it sold under a different name?

And I see early on you changed from a dart to a different pump. I was thinking about going with the dart on the close loop and the return. do you think they will be big enough?

Thanks, your tank has inspired me.

Mar

HDPE is what it is called call a local plastic shop in your city and ask for it. Yes I was going to go with the dart but I wanted more flow the Seq Hammerhead flows 5900gph and the dart is only 3200gph.

I would go with the Hammerhead if I were you.

On the return or the closed loop?

My closed loop only has 2 return ports

I would use the Hammerhead on the CL. Are the 2 returns going to be on either ends of the tank? Are you going to use a Hayward ball valve to change the ports or just have them T off?

NP you will get great flow off the T from the Hammerhead. Thanks I like the look of the open center of the tank gives me allot more space for the larger fish.

First I would like to say no Clown Trigger was hurt in this demonstration!

Many of us have to remove a fish from time to time in our tanks. Sometimes chasing a fish with a net just is not possible. Here in this video I show you how you can remove any large fish with this simple procedure. 30sec or less.

Here is the link to the video.

Yes he is at my LFS in good hands. I removed him because he was eating my corals that I added last week . Plus I have added sand to my tank. Triggers like to pick up mouthfuls of sand and spit or filter in through there gills.

I really started to miss sand in my tank I gave it great thought and broke down and added only 60lbs of Carib sea sugar sand to the tank.

So it was just a coral eating problem mostly (by the way what corals was it eating)? No problems between the fish? Just wondering as I have a clown trigger in my 240 gallon.

Yes he was removed only because he was nipping at corals. He never bothered any fish in the tank. He was a nice fish but I'm trying to add some more corals to the tank and he was the worst offender so he was removed.

He was bighting off small pieces from my moons.

I will get one up later today. When all my lights are on. I only added just under 2 bags of the Carib-sea sugar reef sand 60Lbs.

I should note in catching the clown trigger I used a small ice fishing rod with a small trout hook. I pinched off the barb on the hook so no damage would be done to the mouth of the trigger. The hook never went trough his mouth. It was caught in the upper part of his mouth. It was very easy to remove. I think this method of removing a fish is less stressful then chasing down a fish with a net and or having to tear apart your tank to get him.
