At 7am on moving day - everything was packed, tank was torn down, livestock were all in buckets waiting to go...

Hubby: "Hi, we're here to pick up our 27' truck"
Rental guy: "Uh... it hasn't been returned yet..."

At midnight that same day...

Hubby: "They said I could pick up our truck at this location, it was supposed to be ready at 7am?"
Rental guy: "Sorry, we don't have anything available. Not sure why they told you to come here, we're not expecting any returns tonight..."

We finally got underway the next morning. By the time we had moved to a new city, we'd lost most of the corals and two of our fish despite our best efforts to keep them warm and oxygenate the water (we even did small water changes with our extra water and had battery powered pumps for the trip). Next time we're hiring movers.

"Your anemone was moving around, I think the pump ate it."

Luckily the screen over the intake kept it from getting into the impeller, but it lost a few tentacles on one side.

"CRACK" followed by the sound of Niagara Falls from the den while you're sitting in the living room watching SNL.

LOL at least she meant well!

Something I'm frustrated by lately with all the family and friends visiting for the holidays:

As I'm showing someone the fish, corals, inverts...
"Yah, those are pretty but I really like those green marbles, where did you get those?"

Apparently bubble algae is the most attractive thing in the tank. One guest even thought I'd put them into the tank on purpose, to match the 'red fuzzy rock' (turf algae problem) for Christmas

"While you were on your trip, your tank stopped looking so good.."

Heater malfunction.....it was like 95.

Everything was dead, worms, hermits, all kinds of nasty stuff just laying in there.

Plus they decided not to top it off, (like i told them to) and the water level dropped to almost 50%.

All is well now..

Wasn't said to me, but a customer relayed it to me.

"Daddy, I fed your fish"

-Bottle of Go-gurt next to the tanks.

Everything died.
