Angry Diamond Goby(Jumped)

Hello all, last night I bought a small diamond goby for my 55g reef(raised canopy). I thought I had did enough research before I bought him, and didnt think they were jumpers since they where bottom swimmers, well when I woke up this morning, he was on the floor dead. $25 gone to waste, i'm very upset. I've never had that happen before.

I bought him b/c I needing something that would stare up my sand.

This species is notorious for jumping.

Yeah it happens..I had a lawnmower(George) for about year and a half and he jumped out three different times.I tried covering the tank but he still found one small spot to get through. My dog found him the last time he got out. We still miss george.

You might could try covering your tank. I've seen some good DIY screens on RC. Just don't leave too many openings.

happened to me, too. the first night I got a rare-ish one from Diver's Den. I won't go as far as saying I'll never get one, but I won't get one unless I have a tightly covered tank to put it in.

Egg crate covered in fine mesh wedding veil. Works like a charm. My pair of Australian Fairy Wrasses stay put.
